Ecuadorians Came Second

The morning train Moscow-Cheboksary brought another team of Latin-American race walkers to the capital of Chuvashia. Similar to the team of Columbia, the Ecuadorians have split into 2 groups. The rest of the team members will arrive a few days before the competitions. When asked if change of climate was perceptible, the team coach said he did not feel any great difference and expressed his hope that the local climate would not prevent the team from showing good performance. It was nice to learn that even the people of Latin America know Cheboksary is the capital of the Chuvash Republic - “La capital de la Chuvashia”.
Immediately upon arrival the team went to see the course on the Volga Embankment and the Olympiiski Stadium where the opening ceremony is to take place. Only after that the Ecuadorian team set off for the hotel.
